Fall Checklist

____ Clear roof and street drains of leaves and debris ____ Clean leaves from roof gutters and inspect conductor pipes ____ Plant Bulbs ____ Remove window air conditioners ____ Close roof and attic vents ____ Wash Windows ____ Check calking and weather stripping ____ Install storm windows ____ Drain and store garden hoses ____ Cover central AC Condenser units ____ Have chimney and flue cleaned ____ Have furnace professionally checked, cleaned, and tested ____ Put away patio and lawn furniture ____ Have furniture and carpets cleaned to help cut down indoor pollution ____ Service Snow blowers ____ Stock up on de-icer, salt, sand and shovels etc. ____ Place markers for snow plow on driveways and walks ____ Check supply of Furnace Filters ____ Put up Holiday lights and decorations 
(the holidays will be here before you know it)____ Trim trees and shrubs away from house ____ Remove dead plants ____ Cover perennial plants with a thick layer of mulch ____ Wrap or protect shrubs from winter winds ____ Turn soil for next year ____ Harvest late crops before first heavy freeze ____ Chop and stack firewood ____ Winterize lawn equipment ____ Seal concrete floor to keep salt damage minimal ____ Set rodent traps if you have an attached garage ____ Get snow blower running and ready ____ Apply winter fertilizer to lawn ____ Mow lawn for last time to keep matting of grass to a minimum ____ Rake leaves ____ If you own a pool, follow recommended closing procedures ____ Good time to organize Movies, CD's, records and files ____ Early Fall or Late Winter organize and clean home office
