Do not look at the big picture, just start one small area at a time. The big picture is discouraging so just start with a small project and before you know it you'll be going like a chipmunk squirreling away nuts!
___ First make a list and purchase all your cleaning supplies
___Pull everything out of kitchen cabinets and clean inside of cabinets
___Wash outside of cabinets
___Wash the ceiling; then the walls (moving everything that is not nailed down)
___Wash light fixtures and ceiling fans
___Don't forget to clean pictures and signs or plaques before putting back on the wall
___Clean the fridg; clean the stove including fan under or behind fridg and drawer under the stove
___Wash inside and outside of backdoor; paint if needed
___Take down and clean everything on open shelves, plant hooks (including planters,
wash them with a rag; clean shelves thoroughly
___Scrub kitchen table, on top; underneath; legs, now do the chairs
___Scrub and wax kitchen floor
___Take down and clean drapes
___Remove all pictures from walls and things from shelves
___Wash ceiling in the livingroom
___Wash walls and shelves
___Wash and vaccum floor vents
___Wash windows
___Dust lamp shades outside and if they have water spots or look really bad-be
brave-spray them with a cleaner and wash them and let them dry outside,
you might get a delightful surprise.
___Dust and clean all end tables, coffee tables, television, VCR, stereos
___Moving furniture vaccum floor and speakers
___Wash pictures and things from shelves and put them back
___Shampoo carpets
___Wash blankets; comforters; and quilts
___Bedrooms, tackle one at a time, washing walls; ceilings; floors; shelves
___Bathrooms; deep cleaning ceiling to floor; splashing water around is a good thing
___Clean out all cabinets in bathrooms-throw away what you aren't going to use and
make a list of what needs to be replaced-shampoo; bar soap; bathroom cleaners
and so on.
___Clean laundry area, lint pipes, making sure all pipes and fittings aren't leaking
___Hold a family wardrobe check as you bring out Summer clothing. Sort winter
clothing for discards and donations before storing
___Hold a garage sale! Declutter house and garage to turn trash into cash
___Drain sediment from hot water heaters.
___Attic
___Basement
___Now that everything is spruced up don't forget your bug deterrants
___Tackle your office in the Fall immediately after the children go back to school
